The differences between profitable items and traffic items

When we want to upload products to eBay, we have the option of choosing between 2 types of products

  1. profit products (profitable)
  2. traffic products (traffic)

There are also products called Hi-ticket, but we will explain about them in another guide.

What are traffic products?

Movement products are relatively cheap products (up to $15) and the profit on them is low.

These products are in our store for several reasons:

  • Increasing sales turnover
  • increasing exposure
  • Profit (not big - but it is an added value to the store)

In general, we would like one out of every five products in our store to be a movement product

for example:

A product that is in my store, that the supplier gives me a cost of $3 (Aliexpress), and I sell the product on eBay for $5

Using the calculator we see that the profit for the product is $1.2

Such a product, which will be sold 200 times, will yield us $240 in profit, despite its low profit per unit

In addition, it will increase the amount of traffic of people entering our eBay store.

Okay, so what are Profitable products?

Broadly speaking, any product that is not a traffic product is a profit product.

These products are in our store to increase our profits, and attract new and additional customers.

Generally, in order to have a good profit for the products, we would like to reach 18% profit, beyond our break even.

Don't know the concept of break even? You can use the following guide:
